Photoshop, Milk and Cookies

posted Wednesday, 3 October 2007

My fantastic hubby installed Photoshop on my laptop and now I am in happy photo editing land. My primary goal was to optimize my photos before uploading them to my blog. It is remarkably easy to reduce the size of the file and the uploading now takes place in the blink of an eye (well maybe three blinks). Oh the thrill of discovery and how rewarding it is to master something that I thought would be difficult (or at least time consuming to learn). And just because it's late and I've learned how to do this I'm going to reward myself with a picture I took up at Katy's Inn in La Conner.

Milk and cookies at Katy's Inn

In September I spent a weekend at this amazing B&B with a fabulous group of fellow scrapbooking ladies. It was our second trip (we were also there in March). The B&B is owned by a lovely couple, Cindy and David. One of my favorite memories from the first trip was the freshly baked chocolate chip cookies and little bottles of milk that Cindy served to us at 10pm on both nights we stayed there. Deeply absorbed in our scrapbooking, the smell of these cookies baking, followed by their beautiful presentation and swift delighted consumption, remains high on my list of favorite nurturing activities that I’ve engaged in. Repeating the experience again in September was every bit as amazing as that first encounter. Maybe all cookies should be served freshly baked with a bottle of milk after 10pm. If you are ever in the area you should stay the night at Katy’s Inn just for the cookies and milk experience alone. I’ll rave about the rest of the reasons for a visit at another time. (I wish I had some pre-made chocolate chip cookie batter in my freezer right now. I usually keep some prepared but we finished the last of them when Grandma was here. Maybe I’ll just go have a glass of milk and a memory when I’ve posted this blog.)

Your freshly baked chocolate chip cookies were delicious!! Better make some more soon - and keep the photos coming.
