Oh My Goodness. We have suddenly been hit by a storm. There is thunder and lightning and hailstones the size of marbles are falling in a torrent that makes me wonder if our skylights are going to crack. It is amazing. I feel for anyone caught out doors right now. Ashley should be on a school bus returning from her first field trip to a pumpkin patch. I hope she's got a safe driver. I need to go get Caitlin from school but I'll have to wait for this to ease. It's unbelievable.
Update:
Photos of the roads just outside our house and around the corner. I took them on the way to pick up Caitlin from preschool about 5mins after the storm ended. The river that had been the road in front of our house was already subsiding (actually floowing down to the house at the T-junction at the bottom of our road. There is a link to news footage of that below!)

Link to Kiro News video coverage. The house featured is at the T-junction at the end of our block. Our road slopes down to the south and so the spill off from the rain just flowed right to them!:
This can happen. I remember in Bangladesh a sudden hailstorm occured and
my car roof looked like a putting green afterwards. The size of golf
balls. I never could putt before and there was no change after!!!
Susan - when a big electrical storm like that happens it's a good idea to
get OFF the computer and turn off your electrics! From someone who is
scared of lightening!!
Ha ha Ian. Too bad about the roof of the car and your golfing skills.
