We started our Sunday morning at about 7am, when Caitlin joined us in bed for snuggles and giggles. Once Ashley awoke and we’d all emerged from our beds I placed a pain au chocolat for each of us into the oven to bake. I’d recently discovered these in the frozen section of Trader Joe’s (TJs officially calls them chocolate croissants). I only need to place them on a baking tray the night before to let rise, then rub them with an egg wash in the morning and pop them in the oven. The result is an amazing Sunday morning treat (and the best pain au chocolat I've tasted outside of France). This morning we ate our croissants as we continued our marathon Uno playing that has continued for over a week now. As we ate our pain au chocolat this morning Ashley announced in a blissful tone of voice, “These smell of France.” She fell in love with the warm croissants and pain au chocolat we ate for breakfast when we visited Paris this summer. At their age, what more is needed to love France? This has been the second Sunday of our pain au chocolat treat. Oh, I hope this is a start of a tradition...
Saturday Night Uno Opponents:
Ashley and Caitlin decided to team up with James to take me on. Don't they look confident?

Sunday Morning and the Uno rematch over pain au chocolat:
I had just won against these formidable opponents!
